Lotus Accessories is proud to offer 100% luxury Thai silk from the designs of the elusive Jim Thompson. The hand weaving of silk, a long neglected cottage industry, captured this man, Jim Thompson's attention,after he settled in Bangkok following W.W.II. A gifted designer and textile colorist, his designs, featured in the original broadway production of "The King and I", contributed greatly to the worldwide recognition of the fine quality of Thai silk.
Some of our designs are silk screened with multiple tints and shades and depicting motifs such as birds, elephants, tulips, flowers, and similar designs. All are autographed with the famous Jim Thompson name. To highlight and bring out the rich colors, we also feature palates of various jewel tones, in sequences of color variation: i.e.Apple Green to Loden, Midnight blue to Sky, Peach to Rust and so on. Paired with the motif models, they add drama and harmony to the silk-screened designs. |
